Was ancestral roots solely to the family bibles or was there any powder horns with bloodlines?

Not aware of any
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

just wondering. I would like to pay tribute to my 12th great grandfather who landed at Jamestown in 1609. He was Capt. James Davis of the Virginia ship. Also in that family line were two 6th great grandfathers who were longhunters and fought in the revolution

Perhaps you are interested in having a "Tribute" horn that honors your family history?

I've been contemplating a heritage, or tribute, horn myself. My last name is Wren, so my thought is a white horn with a picture of a wren scrimmed into one side, and the names of all of the Wren men I can find as far back as I can. I would need to leave space for future discoveries of Wrens, as well as any descendants. The names would probably spiral around the end of the horn, kind of making a chain of my family members.

One of my forebearers commanded the "First Defenders" of Washington D.C. during the first days of the civil War.

My 12th great grandfather built the first ship "Virginia" in present day Maine at a failed colony during 1607 he sailed that ship to England and then back to Jamestown in time for the starving period. He survived, apparently a ship appears on a map he drew. Interesting stuff we can find. My ancestors in the civil war mostly fought under "Stonewalling" Jackson
