Is it a lube or a cleaner. The ads seem to be directed at cartridge loaded firearms.

If it's a cleaner, I'll stick to water.

I use the regular Break Free on the final patch through the bore and then use that patch to wipe the lock. It never fails to remove that last little bit of dirt and there has never been an issue with rust. Before I used it I would always get a little rust (yesterday the humidity inside was at 100%) so unless I did a weekly wipedown I would usually get a little bit of color here and there. No more. The Navy uses the stuff on board ship and if it will hold up in a marine environment it should hold up any where else.

Should have been more specific, it is advertised as a blackpowder cleaner

My experience has been with BreakFree CLP.  It seems to work much like Barricade.

I like to follow up with 2 in 1 bore scrubber after water cleaning.

Sounds like the 'ticket' for damp environments.  Here, in the middle of BC, simply flush with WD40 after drying from cleaning(also flushed), then wiped out with a couple patches keeps rust at bay for more than a year's storage. One rifle sat in the lockup for 8 years after flush cleaning, and flushed WD40, then wiped out and wiped down, no rust.

I haven't seen it yet, But I'll give it a try. I'll hit up my local Wally World when I'm in town tomorrow. But it's pretty tough to beat some water and a couple of dashes of Dawn dish soap. Barricade does the job of rust protection in the bore.
