Hi all,
Earlier this year I purchased a purported Louis Smith 45 cal 35" flintlock.
Although it wasn't signed it came with an old note in the patchbox that it was the last rifle he built (ca. 1995).
I don't have pictures of mine, but it's very similar to the one below.

I'd love to hear if any of you folks could share any more information/memories.
That is one FINE rifle. The lock is probably a Ron Long or maybe one I made using Ron's
external parts. Not sure about the triggers but they are not mine.
If I am not mistaken,Louis Smith lived in Johnson City,Tn. He also may have been the
maker of the moulds for the Bailes/Nock flintlock that I got from TOW in 1979.
This is a fine rifle and combines elegant style and workmanship for a fine gun for the
collectors of contemporary work.
