Take Down Kentucky Rifle

 I have seen pictures of several American longrifles that feature take down stock\barrels and have always been curious about the mechanical details. Here are a couple of photo's of a Samuel Morrison rifle with this feature. Curiosity now satisfied!

That is impressive. I guess you could also call it a "double taper wedge joint with a half gainer".  I'll bet even the CNC guys would be impressed. Thanks for posting. Jack

Nice pics,I have built 2 of these longrifles,both in percussion.I had no pic like this,I just made my end joint out of flat brass,worked into stock during build.I really like the lineup of this.Mine are tight once the pin or key and tang screw go in,so I 'm good,this would be the icing on the cake.Maybe next one?It should be a flinter.Thanks for the pics.Dave :)
