Barrel-rifling demo at Friendship
« on: September 19, 2014, 12:25:44 PM »
The first weekend at Friendship is a good time to watch a barrel being rifling behind Gun makers Hall. Bill Hoover was cutting a gain twist barrel this weekend. The link below has photos I shot during the demo.

Kayla Mueller - I didn't come here of my own accord, and I can't leave that way.  Whoever brought me here, will have to take me home.

There will also be a barrel being rifled at the Log Cabin Shop's Trades fair, a different version of machine (or a bench as is often called) will be used, but the activity and results will be the same.

There will be all sorts of goings on there: blacksmithing, horn making demo's, rifle building....a whole bunch of stuff.

That barrel being rifled at Freindship was reamed out by John Kleggy at the spring get together, the barrel that John was reaming out is mine and I'm looking forward to see how she came out. That barrel will be used in a future demonstration.
