Very Tiny Priming Horn
« on: October 28, 2014, 05:47:35 AM »
Made this a while back from the tip of a very black, very hollow horn.  The base and and tip plug are turned of ebony. It holds about an ounce of powder.  The cascabel in the base plug unscrews for filling.

Dave that's a pretty little horn.  I have several of that size and find them very handy for trail walks and hunting.  But mine don't hold a candle to that one!

Dave, What did you use on this horn to bring out that glossy black color? I have a couple of black horns I would like to bring out the gloss on. Thanks.

What a delightful priming horn!  And it's still quite practical, too.  Great craftsmanship.

An old veterinarian friend gave me a tiny black horn years ago that I made into a priming horn. He said he could give me a bucket full that came from de-horning dairy calves. Didn't take him up on the offer.

Lovely...I'd be proud to carry it...the horn and ebony are just brilliant.
