I cannot dig a left hand flintlock rifle out of my brain at this time however left handed smooth bore pieces have been recovered, from dig sites.  Build a left hand rifle but be sure and use an English style lock.

Why build a personal rifle that is awkward for you to use?
Keep the parts and architecture correct, and forget the nay-sayers. When you are in the squirrel-woods with your creation, you will enjoy the ease of use more than any opinions about it's "correctness".
