Blog Update - Engraving
« on: February 02, 2015, 12:44:54 AM »
Hello everyone.

I have updated my blog with a new post.  It primarily deals with the engraving on the burl-stocked fowling piece I just finished.

Any questions or comments, let me know. www.jimkibler.net/blog
Thanks,
Jim

Tony,

Might be interested in some more burl.  I'll send you a message.  Most of the shade cuts I chased, but did push a few of the finest lines.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the whole gun.

This is yet another example of Jim's precise clean work.  It is safe to say, "he has the knack".

Absolutely beautiful work with outstanding attention to detail.
Just out of curiosity, how long does that amount of engraving take?

Thanks again guys.  As I said, the gun is finished.  I had some photography done, but am waiting for the images.  I'll share them when I get my hands on them.  I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  It feels good since this doesn't happen to often ;)

I'm not sure how long the bit of engraving took.  More time than I would like to admit.  I'm not a  great engraver and much of this time was learning and trying to get better.

Thanks again,
Jim
