My first knife build
« on: February 21, 2009, 05:27:53 PM »
I just finished my first knife. The handle is maple with brass pins and a poured pewter bolster. The blade is an old sticking knife that I bouth at a flea market and modified a bit. The snake head was supposed to look like a rattlesnake but it looks more like a boa. I bmade it while I was waiting for my gun parts to come in for my 2nd gun project.

You did a nice job on your knife.  And I like your cherry table as well!

My father- in- law is a furniture builder in the winter months and he builds my wife anything she wants. A friend of mine has a sawmill and cut us some cherry and had it kiln dried for him. There is a coffee table and 2 end tables.

Nice work!  boa... rattlesnake.... doesn't matter it still looks like a snake.  I like it.  Something I would expect a native to carry.

Sorry, I'm from the south and thought it looked like an alligator.  I like it!

Very nice job on the knife, I have a blank in the works I will be doing my first poured bolster on. I hope it turns out as well as yours.
