Can someone give me instructions for burning a spiral stripe onto a loading rod?
Thanks, Fiddler

Wrap it with a piece of wet cotton fabric one inch wide with a gap between the edges as wide as you want the stripe. Then burn the exposed part with a propane torch.
When a nation forgets her skill in war, when her religion becomes a mockery, when the whole nation becomes a nation of money-grabbers, then the wild tribes, the barbarians drive in... Who will our invaders be? From whence will they come?

Also try a search, above, on striping a ramrod.

Last one we did here we took a long piece of black vinyl tape-3/4 wide, fold it in half, sticky side in,and wrap the spiral down,or up  the rod, leaving desired space between, then burn the wood with torch.Did a good job,if ye gits any sticky from it,wipe it off with laquer thinner,
