Sheet brass thickness

I'm getting some materials together for a northwest trade gun build.  I was wondering how thick sheet brass would be best for making a butt plate and trigger guard?    Is there any good source for pictures of trade guns?  I've seen nice reproductions here, but not a lot of originals.

I make mine from .062" brass.

They got books all about NW guns with lots of pictures. They even sell them.

FYI... the trigger guards were iron.

 I highly recommend Ryan R. Gale's "For Trade and Treaty". It provides high end photography with extensive dimensions, right down to the thickness of sheet metal used in ramrod pipes. I have never had a gun book that delivered as much of what I wanted as this one.

Thanks RAT and okieboy, those suggested books are just what I'm looking for.
Ken, I figured the but plate would be thicker, might even have some that thickness.
