Sellers has a S Shirk, location unknown. WM Holmes Audobon Iowa or William Holmes in Winchester, New Hampshire barrel maker or boring barrels. Hope that helps a little.

Ivan Shirk was a contemporary artist, working in the NWcoast style.  Some of his work, and a bit of a bio, was shown in various issues of the Buckskin Report back in the '80s.  If I remember right, at that time his wife was a writer for the Report, using the pen name "Martha Bradford Strong".  I think she was a member of the Outdoor Writers of America, they may be able to provide contact info.
