Aging Silver

OK, I know- give it time...so I just installed a sterling silver thumb-piece on a previously finished gun. The barrel is one that survived (internally) the fire that took out my shop so it has "patina". The thumb-piece is actually a piece of a recovered silver spoon from the same fire. It's now in the stock with silver nails and epoxy but annealing and bending the piece rubbed off most of it's "patina" so I buffed it. Now it looks out of place. Any suggestions besides "give it a few years"? 
Brass Black - didn't touch it
Cold Blue- didn't touch it
Ammonia- didn't touch it

Silver will darken fairly quickly of its own accord.  However, if you want to speed it up, Liver of Sulfur (unrefined potassium sulfide) works in a few seconds.  Many places to get it - do a Google search, but here is an option.......

I second "Liver of Sulfur" it works very well and is pretty easy to use.

Burnt black powder residue or cooked egg yolk might do the trick.
