This is the lock that was on the Jaeger rifle at the Vegas FEGA show.
I didn't mean to post this in two different places.

In all fairness this lock is made form castings acquired from TRS. However they were in pretty bad shape when I received them. All of the design was recut and some of the surface of the lock required some iron inlay to repair.
I photographed some of the repair work. I hope to live long enough to write a book on such stuff some day. Some of the design I cut from scratch.
Here is the top of the lock. this color is off some. not a good photo.

Hi Jerry, in case anyone is curious, the lock castings are available from Jack Brooks.

Nice jerry, I always like it when the fish is used, pen mouth and its tail fin curled up.....neat.
Something for me to learn in the next lifetime I think....this one isn't long enough for me to try!

Amazing. Do you count your time for this type of gun in "man years", or will man hours still work??

KLMoores
It only took me two weeks to do this lock. I only work about 4 hours a day. My eyes won't take any more hours than that. There was a lot of repair work on this lock to do on the casting. On the gold overlaid background the gold is about .003 thick and there is about 100 teeth for every 1/8" sq. in. of area. The teeth are less than .003 tall so as not to protrude through the gold. Incredible as it may seem this is not a complicated operation for a professional engraver. One very touchy operation is to case harden this after the gold work without melting out the gold work. This lock is case hardened.

Hi Jerry, my students are going to use this lock on the Stalking Rifle Project for the NMLRA seminar next year. I can send you eight of these to embellish?

Ron.
Number 1 --If they want the gold work I might be able to do one but the price might be prohibitive. I have a complete Russian Jaeger with a Damascus barrel to do. A double barrel French flintlock pistol from scratch including hand made locks, molds and castings and one English percussion sporting rifle in English scroll.
Call Me.
