I have in my shop for conservation, a Wilhelm Freund (Jager Rifle) ca 1770. The carving is in perfect condition and represents the best quality European craft. There are some of these Rifles photgraphed in Erhard Wolfs, Jaeger book from Jim Chambers. My question to the group is. What interest would there be in precision castings of the carving for study? This technique is good enough to see the pores in the wood. The resulting castings are durable plastic.
This rifle might be possible class offering for the 20010 NMLRA seminars. Is so, castings of the mounts may become available.
