Trigger guard issues
Hello, on my current project I ran into  little issue the tab were I would pin it is in the way of a spring on my trigger I was thinking about cutting the tab off and moving it forwarded, but figured before I go cutting I would see if any one else has some thought

    Rather poor design on the triggers, but it is what it is.  You can certainly move the tab forward, but be aware that it may then interfere with your ram rod channel.   Just cut the tab off and soft solder it where you want it.

You could attach the guard to the trigger plate by drilling through the plate and threading a hole into the guard for screws, thereby making the trigger and guard one assembly.

I would use different triggers.   I use the Davis triggers.   I have never had a problem modifying them to fit.   The other recommendations are sound if you want to use those triggers.

I like Mark's idea . Those triggers just don't go with that guard. The plate will interfere with your inletting of the guard as well, [ from what I see in the photo ]   .  What kind /style of rifle are you building ?

I agree with the other posts. If you plan on running a tang screw through to the
trigger plate this trigger will not work. It can be used in a Southern style rifle that only uses wood screws in the tang. The guard holds the trigger in place in the front as was done on many early southern rifles. From what I can see of the guard you're building an early brass mounted rifle. It should have a tang bolt through to the trigger plate. Try to locate a different set of triggers and use these on a southern rifle. I had two sets of these triggers and gave a set to a friend that used them with success in a southern rifle. Function of the triggers is fine just poorly designed with the front trigger return spring out front on the bar. Tim

A side view would be helpful.

It looks like you're trying to fit a double set into a single trigger guard, judging from the shadow projected on the paper.

In any event, you've got to be able to drill and tap for a tang bolt into the trigger plate ahead of the front trigger.
