Pederoli front sight

I have a Pedersoli Pennsylvania Dixie that has a silver colored front sight. And as you can imaging in the sunlight it's like having a 100 watt bulb for a front sight, I've tried different chemicals on my bench including different bluing all to no avail. What do I need to get that sight a flat black? I'm not sure if it nickel or what type of metal it is so not sure what I need to blacken it. I have also used a Flat black Birchwood Casey marker and smoked the sight but I inevitably smear it when loading.

Any ideas?

Flat black paint or install a new sight.

scuff it with some 180grit paper,maybe all you need to knock the glare down if not it will take the black paint better

You could file a notch or ribs in the back side of the sight to give it more shadow. The silver sight would be hard to give up in lowlight situations like most fall hunting seasons can produce.
