David Rase on "The Blog"
« on: January 25, 2016, 03:24:46 PM »
David has a cracker jack rifle on the blog this morning. Color, lines moving forward, lock conversion, decoration,....... just catches my eye this morning.

I don't think I could find anything wrong with that, even though it's a perc.  Very nice.

There's a lot to like about this little rifle...the fit and finish we've all come to expect from David's work. I specially liked the patch box and surround, triggers and the trigger adjustment screw, and the engraving. All first class. Great stuff from one of my favorite gun makers.

Yep, and don't forget barrel inletting.  ;D
Thanks for all the comments.  Gina is in love with that rifle.  She shot it yesterday for the first time and sent me some pictures of a couple of very nice targets.

A very snazzy rife.   I particularly appreciate the file work on the thimbles.   Great carving and engraving.  The charcoal blue is also very nice.

Very, very nice job Dave! I sure would like to be able to duplicate your metal finish of that rifle??????
Not that there is anything about your work that I wouldn't copy. It's just that I have a rifle to finish in the near future with iron furniture also. At least I now have a model to aim for regarding the metal finish.  :o     Again....Excellent work!
