Gary Birch Bag and Unusual Original Horn
« on: April 06, 2009, 02:50:08 PM »
There are a really fine Gary Birch bag and exceptional original horn on the Contemporary Makers Blog Spot.  The horn has a unique plug that is shaped so that the wood extends up to fill and reinforce the pierced lobe that extends outward from the body of the horn for the strap attachment.  The piercing extends through the lip and the wood of the plug.  This is just a really cool horn and the only one I've seen like this - have any of you others seen one?  I have seen several that had the lobe formed from the wood of the plug instead of the horn body, but not one like this.  You guys who like old horns, check it out.

Hey Guy,

I made a lip horn like that once because the horn was too thin,  and I thought I had come up with some great new idea.  I guess I was wrong.  It is an aweseome pouch and horn.
