Bob Hertrich....th Rice bbl is a .50 cal. "B" weight X 46". This bbl contributes to a nice, long slender Bucks County. The architecture of this BC is pretty close to one by Shuler, but the rest of the LR is only inspired by him....but has many "standard" BC features.
The Verner BC precarves on the market have straight comblines, whereas Shulers and some other BC makers have a slightly curved combline, Also the Verner has a different Bplate . The Verner precarve will not make a Shuler BC.
Don't know of any building plans for a Shuler. I build from a blank and have the bbl and RR work done by Dave Race....he is able to produce a very thin web of slightly over 1/16" which again contributes to a very slender LR.
If you want more features and tips on building a Shuler BC LR, contact me by e-mail....glad to share .
Yes...macular degeneration causes straight lines to be curves and areas of a view to be non-existant. In a sentence, words have missing letters. W/o an "Optivisor. building LRs would be impossible. .....Fred
