Just searching for some names of rifle builders near Nashville and Middle Tn, Southern Ky area other than John Bergmann, Tip Curtis, Wade Patton,
and the Houses near Bowling Green Ky.

Yes I know Tip and have a .40 cal. flintlock made by him. Pleased with the rifle especially its slimness and lightweight. Sights are good for an oldtimer as well. Really thinking about a fowler .62 or 20 guage that maybe I could be part of the build as I sure like to go through the process. I know that most builders like to work alone probably. I'm 65 but still eager to learn.

Chuck Edwards lives in Southeast Missouri just west of Sikeston. Mike Miller lives in Paducah, KY.

Give chuck edwards a call. He is great! I drove 2 1/2 hours and took a weekend class with him. 1 on 1 learning atmosphere.  Only gunbuilding class I will go to now.

I used to see work from Steve Davis I think, and I think he lived maybe in the Dickson TN area.  Very skilled builder but I haven't seen any of his work lately or heard anything of him.  You can see some of it here though:

The late Roy Southgate from Franklin and Frank Bartett  from Sumner Co. were builders of renown from this area in recent times.
The snipers rifle used by Jack Hinson in the Civil War was thought to be built in Lewis Co. Just south and west of Nashville and is presently susposed to be in Murfreesboro.

Tippy Curtis is Tip Curtis's son, he is a knife maker.

Thanks everyone! There are several from this area that are active in building with many builds to there credit. Some have contacted me with their information and I have exchanged messages with them. This forum has allowed me to become aware of just how popular building is in the area and therefore how much interest there is out there among the public. Everyone has been so encouraging and friendly. Thanks again for the response and if anyone else is  out there please give me a shout or post.
