Note in the second picture, the 'swirl' in the snow that is behind and to the left of Hatchet Jack. The heel of his left boot makes that as he leans to the right top swing his foot around for another step. The snow was was too dense to merely pick your foot up and take a step, yet too soft to support any weight. I suspect we were being held up a good 1 1/2 feet between our boots and the actual ground - might be local rondy time before it's all gone. What a thougth that is.
