buying a trigger

If one was to buy a trigger and if for some reason he needs to bend it a bit can he?? or he has to respect the the way it is made.

do you have a propane or mapp gas torch.....add enough heat and you can bend anything....

They need to be red hot when you bend them.  Don't think you can bend them otherwise without hearing the dreaded snap and then it's too late.   I re-temper them afterward.

I am assuming you are talking about a single trigger? If so then yes as the guys mentioned above a little heat helps but usually they are soft.  If it is a double set then you have to watch the fit of several parts, but e tail front and rear can be "adjusted" easily enough. The two trigger leaves in a double set are of a higher carbon steel and could easily snap without heat. If these are what you are wanting to adjust just heat sink the engagement part in the vice and heat and adjust as needed.

I was just curious, i am preparing to make a double set trigger from scratch and was just wandering if the ones on the market add a certain flexibility to them without major adjustment .

I usually bend all my triggers to fit the contour of the stock.  You must heat them as said previously or they WILL break.  Davis sett triggers will bend just fine.

Davis set triggers require red heat to bend - even a little - or they will break.  BTDT.

I used the Davis set here, and bent(with heat) the front and rear parts of the plate to get the curve. I did not bend the section in between the pins, as I did not want to change the geometry of the trigger engagement. Once the tails of the plate were bent, I then filed the center section a little to smooth the curve.
