New Belt Knife
« on: June 16, 2016, 04:36:11 AM »
Had a piece of Elk tine that was begging to be hafted to a knife, so I have been trying to making it happen. The blade is a little over six inches and has been forged from a file, handle has been filed Octagon with a slight taper, and the end cap has been made from a piece of scrap from some other knife project. The guard was once much larger and had been made for a project that I took in a much different route, but I am pretty sure I forged it from a piece of 1084.

Due to things having been crazy at work for the last couple weeks this project will probably not be done till sometime next week. As always comments, suggestions and constructive criticism is welcomed.

I really like the looks of it. What's left to be done? The more I look at it the better I like it, Nice job.

I just need to work on the final edge, fishing the handle and get my file marks out, some final sanding and I will give it a very light aged appearance.
