Buffalo Powder Horn
« on: May 29, 2016, 08:48:11 PM »
A member here, Marcruger, asked me about making him a Buffalo powder horn. We talked about it and he sent me the drawing below, I didn't have a Buff horn and told him I would look for one. So he had three delivered to me, I picked the one that looked closest to his drawing and here is the result. Fairly simple design, I do not have the measurements, packed it up to quick, maybe Marc will add them.. There is no hole in the horn so the patch is for decoration only, the base is Walnut. A couple PIX with one laying on the Buff bag it will go with.

Very believable Tim. Well done. Every so often I need to work on buff just to remember working on a dairy farm. Buff smells like s--t!

I am really happy with the job Tim did on this horn for me.  It's 10-1/2" around the outside curve, and 3" diameter at the butt.  I love the rustic look Tim achieved.

It makes a great compliment to the hair-on bison bag made by Jason up in Virginia.  My apologies for forgetting your last name Jason, so please chime in if you are reading this. The strap on the bag is by Kris Polizzi.  I'll be asking her to make a strap for the horn soon too!

Best wishes,  Marc

An update.  Kris Polizzi created a complementing strap to go with both the bag and Tim's delightful bison horn.  Thanks to both of you!   :-)
