I spent a wonderful afternoon teaching my nephew to shoot a flintlock rifle. He has shot a couple of percussion rifles that his grandfather started but I ended up finishing after said grandfather passed. That grandfather had a Kenny Netting built flintlock that he saved and scrimped for a year to get built. It was his pride and joy, but he hardly ever shot it. So Bob asks me if I would show him how to shoot "grandpas rifle". No other description needed. Of course I would. Built in 1980 and probably had about 30 rounds put thru it. Needless to say he outshot me and thouroughly enjoyed shooting. I then showed him the proper cleaning and storage preparation. A fine day indeed! I bet grandpa is all smiles looking down on the young man and his enthusiasm.
