Just finished William III musket

I bought this kit from The Rifle Shoppe a bit ago. Got it as far as I could then Mike Davis finished assembly.
I did the finish work.
An English King Wm . III musket. .775 x 46" Colerain barrel, walnut stock, iron and brass hardware.
Black and dk. brown leather dye , 6 coats boiled linseed oil.

Very nice looking fowling piece Daniel.  It'll shoot a .735" ball well too, I suspect.

 a big 6 13/16 " lock. weighs just under 10 pounds. Has a nice feel and balance.

That looks really nice!  Is the lock case hardened?  Just wondering where the color came from

 Thanks guys. No it is not case hardened. I semi polished the lock and I
use 44-40 liquid blueing without a degrease. It will dry and rust, then rub
back with 000 steel wool and oil it.
