My First Hunting Pouch

[Poor Bull]

I built this pouch in 1960.  The stitches are worn some but, the leather is still soft and pliable.  I still use it from time to time.  Not bad for 56 years old.  I always think of "Red" the saddle maker from Cody, Wyoming that gave me the leather.  All of the old timers that got me started with muzzleloaders are now gone. RIP

Where did you get that design in 1960?  I would have guessed it was made in the 1980's.  Very good 1st effort, but an even better one because it looks like a shooting bag and NOT like a woman purse, like so many did from the 60s & 70s!  Great job, especially considering the design and timeframe!!

I copied my pouch from an original belonging to a friend.  He was from Pennsylvania and had a number of original longrifles.  He started collecting when he was very young.
