What did you use for the green, and yellow, coloration? These have a nice old feel about them. I would generate some simple lazy stitched bead strips, using just a couple of colors, and use pony beads, rather than seed beads. If there is some way to tone down the yellow, to be more like the tone of the green, it would really give it a museum look. very nice.

 The green and yellow is an earth pigment. In the sun the yellow stands out laying down.  From  beadmatch.com
Up right it is subdued .
I have strips coming using #8s in 3 colors. The striking colors are right for the impression a warrior would want.

  I have been using chalkline chalk, and masonry concrete tinting powder, on similar projects. I often just rub the powder into the nap of the leather without any kind of carrier. I use a chip brush with the bristles cut off, so they are short, and stiff. I rub the pigment in using a circular motion. for more detailed portions of the design, I use clear flat acrylic from the art supply store combined with a little water, and some of the powdered pigment. These materials produce colors more like the natural pigments used by the Native Americans.
