Hessian, that is a .48 caliber?
I'm curious, why not just go with either .45 or .50?
I purchased Mike Millers personal gun. I think he made it in the early 90's. We were talking one day at Friendship and I told him I liked his work but could probably never afford one of his guns. He told me I could pay him while he was building it as his backlog was about 3 years at that time. He asked me to write down everything I wanted in a rifle. When I finished I gave the list to him. He looked at it, grinned and took a nice walnut stocked early trade rifle off the wall.
Try this, he said.
I shouldered it and the silver front site just fell into place. It fit me perfectly.
How about that, he asked?
I told him it was perfect.
He told me it was his gun and he would sell it to me or I could wait until he built another.
I'm not sure why it was a .48 but if I remember correctly one of David Crocketts rifles was a .48. All I know is that it shoots like a laser beam! I had Larry Callihan make me a mold and I run about 200 balls once a year.
