Thanks Ed.  I actually have one of those Lindsay round point templates and have been playing with it lately.  I am going to have to try some sculpting on brass.

Those copies look great!

Very nice, Ed! ;D  It takes more than average skill to sand cast something relatively thin and intricate, it's tough to get the metal to flow and fill out the mold.

I admire your work and I have an interest in foundry work, having started ramming sand molds for my Dad's foundry went I was about 6 years old. Had to wait another couple of years before he would let me do my own pours (under supervision).  Thanks for sharing, looking forward to your next update...

Sometimes, late at night when I am alone in the inner sanctum of my workshop and no one else can see, I sand things using only my fingers for backing
