Eric beat me to posting where the inspiration for this project came from. Anyway, thank you two for the nice words about the flask. Now that you guys know where the inspiration came from I will let you in on something else about the project. In 2006 I won my second Madison Grant Award at Dixon's with this flask. Along with the antique square headed bolt and nut, the ring holding the two have of oak together at the neck is a piece of old shotgun barrel. The carved deer antler plug is captivated to the flask with hand twisted chain links. I have had many requests throughout the years to build similar flasks but I have resisted, thus keeping this one unique. Who knows, maybe some day down the road I will create another similar to this one.
