I built a rifle with a C weight .54 cal. 38" Colrane barrel some 15 years ago. It gets a lot of use as it's my main deer rifle. The rifle is well balanced and fairly light. I do all my load testing off the bench and I've never noticed any barrel whip off a bench or otherwise. I wouldn't know how to recognize barrel whip in a barrel this stout anyway. It's just a good handling, good shooting barrel and will cut one big hole when I do my part. You could build a poor boy with this barrel and it would be even lighter.
