Scored some Cherry logs!
« on: November 08, 2016, 09:16:08 PM »
Tree fell during Hurricane Matthew. Fell on edge of a field and farmer told me to help myself. Two logs, one 5' and one 6'. Around 16-18" diameter. Look to be solid. I have the ends sealed and just need to get them cut. There is another log from a neighboring tree that fell that I will get when I recuperate! I have a new found respect for people that handle logs for a living! And the man who invented hydraulic pumps should have earned the Nobel peace prize!

Well done saving those.  I hear you on the recuperation time!  Now try to imagine doing all that work...without internal combustion engines or electricity either.  And it really wasn't all that long ago.  Us modern men are truly wimps...at least I am ;D

The two logs on the ground in the front are the ones I cut you can see the stump of the tree behind them. On the left you can see the second tree that fell I think I can get one clear 6 foot log out of it.  Not wanting to brag just wanted to share because I don't find deals like this very often .  These are some of the biggest cherry trees I've seen in quite a while around here .
