Wow...this is not only very fine work by a self taught leatherworker, but by far the truest and closest contemporary representation of an antique game bag I have seen someone make around these parts. Awesome work by Eric Fleisher. John Proud has learned to tie an awesome net true to their original form as well.

Eric,
I saw that bag on the Contemporary Makers Blog a few minutes ago.  Thinking to myself that not many accouterments from the blog are brought to the attention of ALR, mostly rifles, I would check and see if there was any mention and if not post a reference myself.  I am glad to see you beat me to it.  From the leather covered rings and buckles to the stitching and everything in between, that is one magnificent bag!  Well done my friend.

A lot of study and planning goes into the construction of a bag like that. There's a lot of steps that have to be followed and alot of separate parts that need attention. Also a ton of labor. If you look closely at some of the photos you can tell the stitches are probably 12 to an inch in some places. Making a bag of that style and having it look both attractive and well made takes a symphony of effort, patience and skill.

Not to mention the net...that's it's own beast of patience and repetition...

Well, very sorry John. I should have read closer to see the net was by you. Also amazing and intricate work. I have never made the netting and I seriously doubt my patience to try one!
