Yet another Chambers conversion

I didn't want to hijack Jerry or Smartdog's threads on their lock conversions, so I thought I would post a couple of photos here of one I'm doing for my smooth rifle. I still need to rework the frizzen and make a frizzen spring screw. I used a large Siler kit and made a new plate with an integral pan.

Thank you all for the very kind words, they are much appreciated. This lock style may have been an inappropriate choice for a Pennsylvania longrifle. I noticed in Shumway's RCA 1 and 2 that there were a few guns that seemed to have repurposed locks. My thinking is this, flawed that it may be, that colonial gunsmiths may have reused well made locks from guns like we would reuse a rifle action to build a custom rifle. So, maybe this lock was off of a Jaeger that was no longer usable  .

Another Chambers conversion. Early Germanic Flintlock to Dutch Fowler on a Hudson Valley fowler. Not as elegant as those already shown but it helps show some of the possibilities with these excellent locks from Jim Chambers.
