Some Pistols
« on: March 29, 2017, 05:06:26 PM »
I don`t want to take the site hostage but, I`ve got some  pistol pics to share . I thank everyone that responded to my last post. Some of these pistols were built  20 plus years ago.  I like building pistols to break up the long gun builds a little . Other than being harder to hold, I like building them because there is not as long from start to finish . Anyway here`s some pics.      Nate

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

Thanks to all for the nice comments . This bunch of pistols were all just "spare part" guns. I always look for used or inexpensive locks at shows. When I don`t have much money tied up ,it makes it more fun. I`ve noticed that most builders these days build copies of   the fine , high quality, surviving original pistols. I like those too. But my books are full of the" funkier " American made pieces and, I like those too .   If I had a ton of money tied up in one I`d probably have to build it more like the more conventional ones. I also prefer more unique guns, not really  big on the 'cookie cutter" stuff , no matter how well done, if it looks just like a million more ,I probably won`t get too  stirred up .
