I've been looking at the Philip Shatz signed rifle illustrated right at the end of this article (photo 16) by Wallace Gusler:

Any idea where I might find more info on this one? It reminds me, somehow, of both the Cellar rifle and the early rifle attributed to Conrad Humble I looked at last spring. Don't know if there is any connection beyond a common ancestry in the German rifles, though.

That is a great article also, lots of early rifles, a good one to save for reference.
