Step into 1780 with these two

The owners of the last two early Lancaster rifles I built sent me a few pictures that I would like to share with you. Dave is the tall (6'-7") one and Gary is the other pioneer. I built these rifles two years apart but I was surprised when I saw the photo's of them side by side at how similar they were. The last picture of the rifle hanging on the wall is the rifle from two years ago and it is already getting that look of a well used but cared for rifle. I had to smile when I received these pictures. Nothing makes a gun builder happier than to see a rifle that he built being loved and used.
I have no doubt that David's rifle will look similar in a couple of years.

They look well used and like they would fit right in "back then".

Handsome rifles for a couple of stalwart pioneers.
