Is Neolithics no longer selling flints???
« on: March 31, 2017, 09:16:35 PM »
I had been really happy with their flints. Went on there a couple months ago to buy some, and got distracted and never did buy any.

Went back today to make an order, and there's nothing under their gun flints section any more.

Anyone know? Are they no longer selling gun flints or is it a temporary thing?

Give them a call. Nothing beats straight from the horse's mouth
Nothing beats the feel of a handmade southern iron mounted flintlock on a cold frosty morning

I was just on the neolithics site and they seem to be there now.

Yep, I see them now, too. Interesting....wonder if I just caught them mid-update on their site or something.

What type do you get from them?

I use the brown Texas flint.  Seems to work as well as the black for a bit less money.

I bought some of the white Texas chirt flints. They turned out to be BIG, tall and bulky, they have a habit of breaking the corners off on the first few shots.

This seems like a good price for flints. I may order some.

I also like the way they grind the flints to knock down the high spots.  They don't have as much product loss,  and I get a better fitting flint.  Win-win!

They turn out some "not so pretty looking" flints, but they are usually pretty solid performers for me. I find that even with an uneven sharp edge, one or two drops into the frizzen and they're good to go.

I just changed out a Neolithics flint that had about 40-50 shots on it. Maybe not a super high amount, but at less than 2 bucks a flint delivered, I can buy nearly 2 of them for the cost of one off the shelf at a shop.
