First shots...
« on: April 21, 2009, 01:28:04 AM »
Got to fire the new Chambers Edward Marshall today.   Only got to fire about 12 shots, as I didn't have much time.  It went off perfectly all 12 times with no cleaning or picking of the touch hole,  which is a 1/4" Chambers WL with no enlargement of the hole diameter.

The bottom group are the first 3 shots ever from the gun.  -- followed by filing a little off the front sight.

3 more shots a little higher. -- filed a little more off the front sight, with one more shot on the 1st target.

Finally 5 shots on the second target.  I left the front sight purposely still a little high and the rear notch is but a nick, so that the owner can finish the process to his liking.

Couldn't be happier,

Jeff

A note. I never open the hole in the white lightning, and misfires are very rare.
I may be wrong, but I think the smaller the hole , the greater consistency in shooting all other thing being equal.

I've always opened it as a matter of course, but I shall give the stock opening a fair trial, on my next one.
