Identify Gun Maker Year

Hello, new to site and must thank  Dr. Fred Garner who took my call and pointed me to your site for help. My name is John after third leg amputation I started buying beat up old guns an restoring an repairing them a friend of mine a collector brought me a old rifle with broken stock to repair as I was looking all I found was more an more questions so any help I could get would be greatly appreciated. In the pictures you will see the only marks anywhere on it. Thanks John

I would hazard 1840s as a starting bid. I could go higher.

I think it's a late period gun, 1840s or possibly later.  Tough to pick makers on later guns.

    The most identifying feature is the transition from forearm to lock/sideplate area.  I do not believe I have ever seen it done this way.  Hopefully someone will relate this to a signed gun.   
    I assume that there are no initials or signature on the top of the barrel between the rear sight and the breech.

More pictures would be helpful. Preferably from the lock to the butt on both sides
