Flint double

Gentleman thanks for the kind remarks on the sporting rifle. Here is a flint double 12ga I will finish when finishing the sporting rifle. Turned and fitted the breech plugs and turned the left plug on an eccentric to properly fit up English breaching. The breeches are also recessed and tapered for a mere 1 7/8" wide across the tails of the lock plates for a nice transition into the wrist. Forged standing breech and trigger guard commercial buttplate that was laying around the shop. Still a fair amount of work to do and wood to knock off.

Very nice indeed.
Can you tell us what her unloaded finished weight is expected to be?
Do I see a bit of cast-on in that overhead shot of the breaches and stock comb?

I haven't thought about finished weight. First chance I get I will weight it, but it is pretty light right now. There is 1/4" cast off in the butt. Might be hard to tell in the picture because there is still wood to come off the butt and finish shaping.

I really like the way you've recessed the breeches.  Gives it a very slender look.  Almost as slim as a percussion gun.  Hope to see it more as it progresses too.
