Rec'd the 3.5 X LED OptiVisor and it took a little bit of getting used to....the focal length is only 4", but I can see better than w/ the 2-1/2X. The LED lighting arrangement adds to the bench lighting and I feel that the lighting can't be improved at all.
Not intentionally prolonging this last build but it just sits there most of the time and has become 2nd priority to my wife's Alzheimers.
As I said before, stuff that was easily done prior to when the macular degeneration worsened is now amazingly done and is really celebrated as an accomplishment as if it were the I work I did as a beginner.
Anyways here's some pics of the progress of a BC started from a blank. By the way....this is in no way a complaint or a plea for sympathy. I can now realize how the gunsmiths of yore felt when their eyesight failed and their income dropped noticeably. Many became blacksmiths, farmers or tavern keepers when fairly young w/o further contributions to gun building......Fred
