New pouch and horn just finished
« on: April 22, 2009, 06:38:39 PM »
Attached are two photos of a new pouch and horn I just completed for a customer.  This pouch is based on an original pouch from Covington, VA. that I was able to examine and photograph.

The new pouch is about 1" larger overall that the original being 9" across the top, and 8.25" deep. He also requested a longer gusset than the original. This one runs to within 1" of the top of each side. There is also a large inside pocket.

The pouch is made from 3 - 4oz. veg. tan cowhide, and not lined. The color is a result of using two different dyes that I mix myself. I did antique the pouch and the horn some to make them look like they have "been around".

Hope you like them.

Very nice looking set Jeff.  It's a practical size and shape, and well finished.

Thanks for pulling up the photo Lew. I hate to ask, but could you see if the other photo will come in as well?

I have studied the post on "Over the Fence" about inserting photos, but I still don't understand the process correctly.
Thanks again,
Jeff

When you see your image on photobucket, look for "Share this Image"
then there is a column of nonsense numbers and letters.
Just copy the IMG code (buncha numbers) and paste into this here message

Very nice looking set. I like the size and shape. The horn looks good also, they really go together well.

How did I miss this item?  Jeff, very nice work on the bag.  Starting with veg tan leather you accomplished just fine to get it to look older and 'softer'.  It's already looks like nicely 'aged' and the color is just right. Great job Jeff.
