 Call it what you wish.... Valise, Grip, Portmanteau, Herman Munster's lunchbox etc. 13" Long, 11" Tall and 8 1/4" deep. Ends are made with thin wood sandwiched between the leather for rigidity.

Thanks very much guys. The compliments are humbly appreciated. Taylor, you can darken leather somewhat by suntanning and by the addition of dark or tinted oil. The leather for that piece was already somewhat dark from tannery. I used oil and spirit dye to get that hue. If using spirit type dyes, you need to dilute it VERY well. Some spray it on but I just wipe on with a cloth fixed much like a large "pounce" type ball of cloth or leather people use for wood finishes, etc. It's just what works for me. Attached is a pic of a piece I just did with a dilute spirit dye and the original color underneath.

On small pieces like a knife sheath I have had excellent results by applying the dye with an airbrush. I never could get a wipe on application method to look professional. The airbrush worked much better for me.
