FCI Barrels , Charlie Burton
« on: August 25, 2017, 06:37:39 PM »
I received a barrel yesterday from Charlie at FCI  Barrels . Immediately upon opening the tube , I was impressed!! The barrel , a 48 inch , .40 caliber  will be used on a rifle for myself. From the first conversation about the barrel, till the package arrived , Charlie kept me informed throughout the process. His expertise and vast knowledge of barrel making he freely shared with me , to help with the final details. We are blessed to have the great barrel makers that we have! I would recommend Charlie to any and, everyone looking for a top quality product at a competitive price. His quality , coupled with his knowledge , and excellent customer service make dealing with this man a pleasure. I am looking forward to building this one out and, can`t wait to shoot it. Charlie has already fired it and had impressive results!!!  I`ll post when I get going on it.  Thanks Nate

The barrel I got from him looks great I can't wait to shoot it either!  He has quite the variety of offerings in cal/profile/length, I plan to place another order in the future, I've been thinking I need a skinny 48" tube as well (in some odd ball call .44 I think).  Is yours swamped or a lil 3/4"er?  Look forward to your results!

Mine is a swamped one that the profile was copied from an original Southern rifle. It does look like an old one compared to some of the modern profiles. It feels like it will hold nicely when built.

Yes, great barrels at a good price.  I've built a couple of guns with his barrels and have another barrel on order now.  But remember to plan ahead because when I ordered my last one at the beginning of May he said his wait time was about 6 to 8 months.  Not uncommon for a custom barrel maker and a lot shorter wait than some others at the moment.  But to be completely honest, I've never had a complaint about any Rice barrel I've ever had either.

Charles has built many pistol barrels for me and always does a super job. Great quality and good service. Visited with him last week at the CLA show and had fun.

And to top it all off, he's a heck of a nice guy! If you folks ever get the chance, stop by his shop for a visit.

I'm waiting on a build right now with a FCI barrel in 50 cal. I talked to Charlie at the CLA show and he is a very nice gentleman.   As for an odd caliber - he said he shoots a .47 caliber.  He has the tooling for it.

I've got an FCI 30x46"A over there in the corner... and a stick of Walnut to merge it with.  It's next after the next and next.   ::)  Getting fired up to make some guns and all this Charlie's Barrels talk helps.

Hope to deal with him again soon. But am bbl poor right now...just found a 36 I forgot I had.  :P whoot.
