Aside from The castings offered by The Rifle Shoppe, does anyone know where I can lay hands on a set of castings or completely assembled French pulverin, as carried by French marine soldiers circa 1720s in North America? I would purchase a completed pulverin if someone has one lying around somewhere. I have a small foundry and can case my own small brass parts. I want to compile some kits so we can assemble them for our living history program at Fort Rosalie in Natchez, Mississippi.
And please do not misinterpret my search for TRS alternatives as criticism of The Rifle Shoppe. They are fine people, they mean well, and they have always been pleasant to me when I was able to raise them on the phone....it's just that I am working on some time sensitive projects and cannot afford overly long delays.
Here is a photo of a spout excavated at Fort Rosalie in Natchez, Mississippi, a few years ago.
