New Bucks County Rifle

Spent some time in the woods this weekend with my New Tip Curtis, Bucks County style fire-lock. Really happy with this rifle. Kind of plain, but just the ticket for dragging through the woods and my "style" of hunting and shooting. Didn't have any luck bringing home meat, but saw a couple of dandies, they just didn't offer any shots! Great weekend though!

I shoots nice and is great to carry, a little heavy but I am getting used to it! Up to now I had never carried any rifle with a barrel longer than 38". It's a 50 cal. with a 42" slightly swamped barrel.

Hi, really nice looking rifle.  I like plain and simple.  Did you get it from Tip in the white and finish it yourself or did you have Tip finish it??

Strong Bear,
I bought it finished from Tip at Friendship. He is really great to do business with. Has a vast assortment of styles of rifle to choose from. Most are plainly finished.
I also have one of his  Jacob Dubbs smooth-bore rifle "parts kits" and will finish it over the winter, .62 cal/20 ga. octagon to round barrel. In the meantime I am shooting and hunting with this Bucks County rifle! Hope to make some meat with it this fall. We will see if the Deer cooperate or not!

I too like it!

Tip builds a solid gun! 4 at a time...

Watch the nose cap....the glue epoxy released at  10 deg. in 14 " of snow..LOL. Never did find it..

pinned the replacement...

I called him...he said "that's the way I make Um"!...There's only one Tip Curtis!!..

For me just seeing something and having a chance to shoot is enough to make it a great day hunting.

Looks really nice.  I'm trying to get one of his 20ga fowlers...but can't seem to get any pictures of them.  Makes it a bit difficult to buy one sight unseen.
