SILVER LEAF AND WIRE TUTORIAL FINALLY DONE
« on: May 08, 2009, 02:35:30 AM »

I have had many requests to do a silver leaf and wire tutorial.  After many hours I have finally completed it, all five parts.  Anyone interested in seeing it can go to my web site, and click on to silver wire tutorials 1 through 5.  My other tutorials are also there if you are interested.  I hope that it will be beneficial to some of you.  I couldn't even guess how many hours it took me to assemble it, but if it helps some of you to  try your hand at it , was worth the effort.

I learned alot looking at your tutorials.  I finally got the courage to do my first carving yesterday.  Our talks on the phone have been wonderful.  As promised I will email you pictures.  Thanks for listening and coaching and never doubting.  Your "just do it" attitude instills confidence has been a great help.  I look forward to doing wire inlay soon.  Just need to build something to do it on.  To all who don't know Dave his is always willing to share and is a great patient Teacher!!!!!!!! ;D

Dave, thanks for the tutorail . I've been wanting to try this for a long time.
If I understood part five, it's wetting the wood after inleting the leaves that holds the silver inplace. Have you ever had a leaf fall out when the stock dries up?

Best regards

David, that was wonderful.  Having met you and seen your work first hand, I must congratulate you for providing such a fine tutorial.  I have not read all of the postings to your thread, but I get the idea that no one has anything negatively critical to add.  And no wonder!
I am going to do a wire inlay tutorial at Dixon's this summer, and I shall be definitely discussing your methods, borrowing heavily from your experience.  Thanks much for this great gift.
